Progression to perfection

Kettlebell trainingEveryone always wants immediate gratification, fast results, we want it NOW!

Well guess what…it just does not usually work that way. Sorry;-(

If you want success you have to put in the time, effort, and dedication. You have to work for it and make it happen.

Why am I writing this today?
Answer: Motivation, Instruction, and so YOU can reach your goals and see your dream body in the mirror!

You see, about 6-8 months ago (maybe a bit longer) I was buying some Kettlebells for one of my fitness and weight loss programs and I saw 2 Kettlebells that I did not have. They were BIG! 36kg (80LB) and the other was like 40 or something (I think it was 97LB)…doesn’t matter because I knew it was more than I could handle!

But that 36kg (80LB)…I knew that I was working towards that one because I had already mastered the 24kg (53LB), 28kg (62LB), and was starting to press the 32kg (70LB) Kettlebell overhead with one hand (either side).

Now I was doing OK with the 32kg, but not up to 10 reps which was my goal. But I’ll tell you, that 36kg scared me! I mean, think about it…80 pounds of steel over head…with one arm! Damn!

Well I worked for a while and kept looking at the 80, but not touching it. Hey, it IS scary;-) But I kept working with it always in my mind. It was a goal.

Did you get that? It WAS a goal!

This morning I went out and went for gold. I expected to either get crushed, break something like the cement below me, or just get pummeled by the thing when it crashed down on my shattered shoulder and head.

Nope…Not only did I press that thing over head for 4 reps on my left side, I got crazy stoked and hit 6 reps on the right! (btw, I firmly believe in doing the same work on each side of the body…but adrenaline and emotion got the best of me!)

I reached a solid goal and am stoked!

What now?

Keep training with the 36kg (80LB) and master it…and now it is time to go buy the 97LB(40kg?) Kettlebell and keep my eye on it until it is time!

How does this apply to you?

I think you know, but: Set your sights on a firm goal, work towards it, dedicate, persist, and eventually conquer the thing! You CAN and WILL do it…just never give up and always focus.

Now go workout!
